J.I.S. or Japanese Industrial Standard screws are to be found on Japanese bikes and cars, we are happy to let you know we have increased our range and will continue to add more hard to find fasteners to our growing collection.
All our JIS fasteners are sourced from and made in Japan.
The difference between JIS and later ISO is in both the size of the head of the screws and the pitch of the thread. JIS heads are smaller than ISO, while the threads have a slight difference. On pre1967 bikes the thread was different again, see our J.I.S. Phil Pan (Pre1967 Pitch) Zinc page
The A/F spanner size on the bolts and nuts is normally smaller while the thread pitch on the M10 and above is normally fine pitch
Please choose from the various styles of J.I.S below. For J.I.S zinc, stainless or black stainless engine casing kits, scroll down to the bottom of the page. If your bike is not listed, just ask and we will see if we make one up.
How to measure bolt length
All Screws, Bolts and Socket Caps are measured from under the head to end of thread
Countersunk are measured including the head to end of thread
Round Oval Countersunk are measured to the top of the countersunk section of head to end of thread but not including the round head
